Spinach Boreg


1 lb all-purpose flour

3 ½ tsp Canola oil

2 tsp yeast

2 ¾ cup water

1 ½ tsp all spice

Salt to taste


3 lb fresh spinach

¾ cup lemon

¾ cup oil

2 onions

Salt & pepper to taste


Shell: combine the flour, oil, yeast, salt and mix, let I rise for 1 hour.

Filling: cut spinach into small pieces, wash and squeeze out water by hand, set aside. Chop onions into very small pieces and squeeze it by hand, add salt, pepper, all spice, lemon juice and oil, and mix it with Spinach. Take small pieces of dough (golf ball size) open it to ½ inch thickness, put the filling in the middle, close it like an envelope, arrange it in a foiled tray, bake in 350 degrees preheated oven, until golden color (approx. 25-30 minutes).
